    Samsung Engineering won the TimimounField Development Project from GTIM (Groupement Timimoun), a joint venturecompany created by Sonatrach, the largest national oil company in Algeria,Total, the largest oil company in France, and CEPSA, a Spanish oil company. Itis a project to develop a natural gas field in Timimoun, located in the SaharaDesert, 800 kilometers southwest from the capital, Algiers. In this project, weconstructed a central processing facility (CPF) with a capacity of 177 MMSCFDand a pipeline that collects and transports gas.

    In October 2009, Samsung Engineering won a contract for the Fertil-2 ammonia/urea project to build what was at the time the largest plant of its type in the UAE. The project was awarded by Fertil, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) of the UAE and TOTAL of France. As of late 2000, ADNOC planned a number of projects aiming to turn the country’s abundant natural resources into high value-added businesses. As part of the plan, Fertil was established with a 2:1 shareholding ratio (ADNOC/TOTAL). The Fertil-2 project, awarded by Fertil, is able to treat 2,000 MTPD of ammonia and 3,500 MTPD of urea a day.     In December of 2015, the SamsungEngineering Consortium, consisting of Samsung Engineering America and McDermottof the US, signed the contract for the MEG-1 Project with Lotte Chemical USA. >In the project, which built an ethyleneglycol (EG) plant with an annual capacity of 700,000 tons in Lake Charles,Louisiana, US, Samsung Engineering was responsible for the engineering andprocurement, and McDermott executed the construction.

    SAMSUNG DISPLAY SMD A2 LINE PROJECT

    In 2011, Samsung Engineering completed the AMOLED Plant for Samsung Display, which included the largest mobile display cleanroom in the world. Despite the record-breaking nature of this project, it was very important for the client that Samsung Engineering complete the cleanroom in only six months, half the normal length of time for a project of this size and complexity. At its peak, the AMOLED project employed nearly 7,000 construction workers at the jobsite in Tangjeong, Korea, so even with such an accelerated schedule, Samsung Engineering managed to complete the AMOLED Plant on time.
